Karanjia: A young man was killed in an elephant attack in Parvatipur village under the Karanjia forest range in Mayurbhanj district of Odisha.
According to sources, the deceased has been identified as Juna Naik of Jamdapal village under Raruan police station. The young mam had gone to see the wild elephant near the mango groove when the elephant got enraged and attacked him. The youth could not escape on time and got killed in the attack.
The locals rushed the youth to the nearby Shukruli Medical College and was later shifted to the Keonjhar District main hospital for further treatment. However, the doctor declared him dead at the hospital.
The forest department and police have reached the spot and are conducting further investigation.
