Bhanjanagar: An elderly woman was killed, and another was critically injured in an elephant attack on Thursday near Nunigundi under the Jagannath Prasad forest range here.
According to sources, the elderly lady was returning from the fields near the forest when the wild elephant attacked her in the wee hours of morning to attend nature’s call when the elephant attacked her.
The forest department officials and the police arrived at the scene. Investigation is underway.
