Bhubaneswar, January 22, 2026: In recognition of his outstanding contribution in the field of social service and emerging leadership in politics, Radhamohan Mahapatra, a prominent youth leader and social activist from Kandhamal district, has been conferred the prestigious Odisha YuvaRatna Samman-2026 .
The award was presented yesterday (January 21, 2026) during a special ceremony held at Jaydev Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Radhamohan Mahapatra was honoured in two categories: as a Youth Social Worker for his remarkable work in community service, and as an Emerging Youth Leader in the political sphere.
Known as the President of Kandhamal People’s Forum (KPF) and a government-recognized journalist, Radhamohan has been actively working on key issues concerning Kandhamal district, including development initiatives, tribal rights, permanent pattas (land titles), railway connectivity, and various public welfare matters.
While accepting the honour, Radhamohan expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all people of kandhmal. He attributed this achievement primarily to the unwavering love, support, and affection of the people of Kandhamal district. He dedicated the award entirely to the residents of his beloved Kandhamal.
He stated: “Jai Jagannath. Jai Kandhamal.”
This recognition is seen as a major inspiration for the youth of Odisha engaged in social service and politics. .
