Bhubaneswar: The State Government has decided to reduce stamp duty and registration charges to less than 1% for houses measuring up to 60 sqm registered under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban 2.0.
In a letter to the Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Housing and Urban Development Department Additional Chief Secretary Usha Padhee said the State Cabinet, in its 41st meeting, approved the proposal for reducing the charges for PMAY-U 2.0 beneficiaries.
Padhee has requested the Revenue and Disaster Management Department to take necessary steps for publication of the notification and orders in this regard. A copy of the same has been sought by the H&UD Department for onward submission to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
The move is aimed at reducing the financial burden on beneficiaries of affordable housing under PMAY-U 2.0.
