Thunderstorm Alert For Bhubaneswar, Nayagarh, Balasore Among 9 Odisha Dists

 Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday evening issued a Yellow Nowcast Warning for nine districts of Odisha, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty surface winds over the next three hours.

According to the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, thunderstorm activity with lightning and winds reaching speeds of 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places in Khordha district, including Bhubaneswar city, as well as Nayagarh, Sundargarh, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Balangir, Balasore and Mayurbhanj districts.


The warning, issued at 5.30 pm, advises residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and closely monitor weather conditions for any deterioration.

The IMD has urged people to move to safer locations whenever necessary and take adequate precautions to protect themselves from lightning strikes and thunderstorm-related hazards.

The weather agency continues to monitor the evolving conditions and has advised the public to follow official updates and warnings issued by local authorities.
