Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has scheduled a joint technical inspection of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on July 18, 2026.
According to an official letter issued by the Works Department, the inspection will be conducted by members of the Technical Committee of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Puri Circle. The inspection is set to begin at 10:30 am on July 18.
After the joint inspection, a meeting will be held at the SJTA Conference Hall / PWD Inspection Bungalow, Nirman Niwas, Puri, to discuss the observations and decide on follow-up actions.
The government has requested the ASI to make necessary arrangements, including staging inside the Garvagriha, Jagamohana, and Natamandapa to facilitate the inspection.
The Works Department has described this as a routine annual inspection that is conducted every year ahead of the Rath Yatra to assess the structural condition of the temple.
Official communication regarding the joint inspection was sent by Er. Laksmi Kanta Padhi, EIC-cum-Special Secretary to the Government, Works Department, to the Superintending Archaeologist, ASI, Puri Circle.
