Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder over 13 districts of Odisha for the next three hours.
According to the nowcast bulletin issued at 2:00 pm, light to moderate rain with thunder is very likely to continue over Sonepur, Boudh, Nayagarh, Balangir, Sambalpur, Malkangiri, Puri, Jajpur, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, and Keonjhar districts.
Separately, the IMD has also issued a similar warning specifically for the Capital City Bhubaneswar at 2:05 pm, stating that light to moderate rain with thunder is likely to continue over the city for the next three hours.
The regional weather office has advised people in these areas to remain alert and keep a close watch on the weather for any worsening conditions. Citizens have been asked to plan their activities accordingly and take necessary precautions.
This fresh spell of rainfall comes amid the presence of a well-marked low-pressure area over the northwest Bay of Bengal, which is expected to influence weather conditions across the state in the coming days.
